Açıklama

The purpose of this book is to fill a void (as far as we are aware) in information geared to vintage fabrics as a loom product, as yardage, and as a desirable product in today's marketplace.

We chose the 1880s – 1959 period due to greater selection of reasonably priced fabrics currently accessible on the marketplace. The decision to include the 1950s was necessary as this was a transitional decade which gave birth to first and second generations of synthetics yet still remained a dominant stronghold for traditional, natural fiber fabrics.

Vintage Fabrics Guide is intended as a quick reference that will benefit textile collectors in all fields with the purchasing and identifying of vintage cloth — novices, seamstresses, costumers and re-enactors, researchers, dealers, students, teachers, quilters, and those who simply like fabrics.
